True North Paper Co. Celebrates 2016!

2017 is already in full swing, but I wanted to take a few moments to look back over 2016. Better late than never, and once you’re through this post you’ll never have to go back to 2016 again!

So to dive right into it, let’s just say that 2016 was full of all the feels. We’re talking sweet and joyful highs and some pretty low lows. 2016 was a year of growth; of embracing progress and new ventures, but with learning and growth also come the growing pains of wrestling with doubts and fears.

When I thought about writing a blog post featuring the last year I kinda wanted to stuff the idea back down into the bottom of my imaginary bag of business ideas. We’re talking way-way down in the bottom, under all the gum wrappers and who-knows-how-old-mints. All that was coming to mind were the things that I hadn’t accomplished or goals that I didn’t meet, rather than seeing all my accomplishments that were staring me right in the face. Isn’t it funny? We can attain a goal, finish working on a project and automatically move onto the next thing, the entire time wondering what else we can do to be successful instead of slowing down and realizing that what we just achieved was an accomplishment. That’s what a lot of my 2016 seemed to look like. Thankfully there were Christ’s sweet whispers of love and worth, and my husband’s supportive and goofy words to keep me trekking, even when the easiest thing to do seemed like burying myself under all the cozy blankets (which actually doesn’t sound like a half-bad idea no matter what I’m feeling).

Success is not something to be attained; it’s a continuing journey.

2016 was filled with so many new ventures, new connections and new creations; looking back I am so proud, even if it took some time to realized all that I had accomplished. It was just this past year that I took the leap and started True North Paper Co.! And by golly, that’s a whole accomplishment in itself. But since then I’ve also been able to address envelopes, design invitations, work on home décor projects, create custom prints and more! All of those projects hold a special place in my heart – and what makes them so special is knowing that what I’m doing here at True North Paper Co. is helping someone – whether it’s a bride in search of invites that speak to her, a planner looking for envelopes for their next event or a homeowner on the hunt for home décor that speaks their style. All of you have let me into your lives and allowed me to be a part of your story, and for that, I am so grateful. It’s those moments that made 2016 such a joy, and are already making 2017 a year to be remembered as well.

So thank you to you, the people who have come alongside me, supported me, encouraged me, and loved me. This journey is just as much yours as it is mine, because without you I wouldn’t be where I am today.

I hope you enjoy sifting through these pictures of some of the projects that I got to be a part of in 2016!
